Clintonville Counseling & Wellness is a counseling practice located in Columbus, Ohio dedicated to holistic, inclusive, and ever-evolving approaches in the mental health space. Honoring each client’s story is the foundation of our therapeutic work. Our mission is to provide necessary equitable, inclusive, and affirming spaces for counseling and education in order to address the gap in mental health care prioritizing those within LGBTQIA2S+ communities. Our clinicians treat the whole person and value the importance of wellness being a collaborative effort. We value integrity, efficiency of service, learning and growth, social justice, and connection.
We welcome clients from all backgrounds, identities, expressions, and spiritualities. Our staff respects the right to bodily autonomy and recognizes clients are the experts on themselves and their identities. We pride ourselves on creating a safe environment in which each client can experience a non-judgmental space to grow. Our clinicians treat each client as a unique individual, work collaboratively, and empower clients to find their own paths to growth and development.
As a practice, we recognize and seek to address an outstanding need to intentionally serve marginalized communities, recognizing, but not limited to: People of Color, Native and Indigenous peoples, the LGBTQIA2S+ community, and those whose various marginalized identities intersect. Our staff works to do this through actively and constantly identifying and dismantling racist and white supremacist structures and biases within our practice, community, and the mental health field. We commit to challenging norms, acknowledging and addressing faults when they occur, and openly communicating our progress and our challenges as we grow in this imperative work. We acknowledge our imperfections as a predominantly white organization and are willing to continually educate ourselves and make changes as needed. We welcome feedback from our clients, staff, and the community in service of learning, accountability, and growth for us all.
